So it's your fault you weren't there to make them sound good?

Fucking useless people. In the Louie I mean. That dude saying 'it's the promoter's fault' over and over again. How? It's the fucking soundman and the enormity of the Geisha sound in a tiny room....

Still, Rose was excellent although she doesn't need a band for every song, really. Cajita were good too - get a real drummer!

The "Dude" is cool man...he's in a difficult situation with very little real back-up. as for the sound man... I have nothing to say

Ask Anton...he knows, it involves a monitor amp having slightly less electricity in it than it should have done

Yeah, I wasn't dissing the 'dude' it just seemed irrelevant.

Looking back, Decode's right. But there's an absence of Geisha today... I want to hear / see their anger! I mean hear them enjoy the fact we were totally suckered by their new direction.

I think it's best best if they explain it themselves.

Anton ripped the strings off his guitar.

Mantis stormed through my mate Adz, nearly making him spill his beer, but he'll be OK.

I'm not claiming to be the best engineer in the world but its my understanding that Amplifiers work best when you turn them on

i heard about Geisha's levels at the louie last night....thank god someone knows how to rock ffs.... :D

Why is he putting on bands like Geisha when the noise problem still hasnt been sorted?( not that it was your faults at all lads)

With regards to who is doing the sound tonight it could be a range of newbies....probably ranging from 110db to 120 db! And yes the strike still stands.

Thank fuck im doing the fleece tonight..

I wasn't there......

I heard that Geisha stopped after a 10 min wig out cos they were told it was too loud. :D

You'll have to ask a Geisha for the exact details.
Apparently they were louder than a band called Triad, one of the few bands to be pulled at the louie for being too loud!

Class!

basically it.... but what made it class was Steve's expletive fuelled sulk, Anton's clam, rage-fuelled stare at John the messenger and Sean's "fuck it I'm going to play a 20 minute drum solo" attitude....

plus, Tony rolling about on the floor, ripping the strings of his guitar, and then claming packing away while Sean keep on solo-ing while accompanied by Steve's amp. Oh, and Steve's turn as guest vocalist, which he did very well....

A genuine shame, that. I would've liked to have seen Geisha properly. Cajita ain't really my cuppa (although I'm on their mailing list due to Decode confusing me :)), and while I could see Rose's potential I was a bit nonplussed by her set. Her opening tune was nice though.

Today's question is...

Postby Frater Maiof » 19 Nov 2004, 10:22

I bought an amp so I coul hear myself onstage, no offence to the soundguy but if I am forced to turn my amp down I need some in the monitors because you cant turn the drums down.

We get on stage and there is a problem with Steve's DI, so he is asked to turn his amp up. I plug into my amp which has been at the same volume for the entire gig.

We play one song and are told we're too loud, so I turn down, but lo and behold there is nothing in my monitor so I say fuck it.

I wasn't angry at anyone really, just frustrated at the situation, after we had taken a really long soundcheck and then told to change over really quickly, not enough time.

We're too loud for a place like that anyway which is a shame because I really love the louis as a venue.

So I think the answer is no, we wont be playing there again.
I'd rather make unlistenable records and not sell any than try and get by with snake-oil music. That's why I officially apologise for all the frippertronics...
